The 6" deep, pine nesting block contains various hole diameters and depths, so that it can host a variety of solitary bees. The solid pine block provides better insulation than cardboard tubing, and will dry more quickly compared to bamboo tubing. The nesting hole spacing keeps the bee house from becoming overcrowded, and inhibits problems such as fungus and parasites. The face of the block is scorched to darken the wood grain which provides a more distinct pattern to help the bees find their nesting site. To get prolonged use of your Buzz Heroes Solitary Bee House, replace the nesting block every two to three years.
To replace the nesting block, turn the attached screw hook and pull out the old block. No adhesives, paints, stains, or other chemicals are used in making this nesting block.
